Ross LandrySixteen year old Ross Landry was spending Saturday afternoon the same way he has done for a while, riding his motocross bike at a track in Pierre Part, Louisiana when on a familiar jump something went very wrong. Everything seemed picture perfect but when Ross landed, he fell with all the force that pulled him in the air. His father remembers seeing him in the air and then knew something terrible had happened. By the time his dad reached him, Ross told him his leg was broken. Actually Ross had broken his pelvis in two places. Unable to sit or stand, Ross knew it was serious. Doctors at Children's Hospital studied the X-rays and determined that his injuries would heal on their own, with time. Ross will have to rest for six months before he is able to do anything near getting on a bike again but when asked, he says he's ready for the day doctors tell him he can ride again. Children’s Hospital is a non-profit organization; in its 53 year history Children’s has never turned away a child in need. |
